Why Teens Do Not Understand Analogue Clocks

Recently, I read a surprising news article in The Telegraph that the UK is getting rid of analogue clocks in school because kids are no longer understand and tell the time. Is it something alarming, or I am just exaggerating my thoughts that kids these days might be good at placing new examples in from new gun laws or inventing new and cheap environmental ideas. Still, they can’t read time from analogue clocks or hold a pencil? According to Malcolm Trobe, deputy general secretary at the Association of School and College Leaders, “The current generation isn’t as good at reading the traditional clock face as older generations.” Somehow, the situation is similar in most parts of the world, including India and Pakistan, where kids under the age of 12 still find it hard to understand and tell time from analogue clocks. Cyber-bullying: The Dark-side of Technology – Parents Beware

For the past three years of my teaching, the tendency in students complains about cyberbullying (CB) increased with an alarming rate. What is cyberbullying? Cyberbullying is a form of harassment using electronic or virtual means. This type of harassment is also commonly known as ‘online-bullying’ in many Asian countries including Pakistan and India. It termed ‘bullying’ which means when a youngster, typically teen, exchange harassed behaviour with others especially on social media. The harassed behaviour may include; rumours, threats, sexually explicit remarks or judgemental sentences, unethical and unlawful use of personal/sensitive information, and the use of ‘hate-speech’. Cellular devices are not allowed in the Classrooms – New Law Introduced by French Government

There is a new campaign introduced by the French President Emmanuel Macron in September 2018; children are not allowed to bring any smart or cellular devices along with them in the classrooms. According to the French news service The Local, ‘This law will reduce distraction in the classroom, combat bullying, and encourage children to be more physically active during recess’.
